CSRA announced “it’s closing in on making its first acquisition as a public company — Alexandria-based defense telecom firm NES Associates LLC.
The deal is expected to close by the end of the second quarter on Sept. 30. While company officials declined to comment on how much the acquisition is expected to contribute to revenue and earnings, CFO David Keffer told analysts that “the financial impact is very small.” He added that the purchase price for the deal is around $100 million.”
G2X TAKE: From a Federal Health perspective there appears to be limited play here, but the acquisition of any CIO-SP3 SB prime is worth taking note. CSRA has purchased NES Associates.
Given the recent re-certification of the small business vendors completed, it is hard to put a value on how much a CIO-SP3 SB contract vehicle is worth, but we expect more than a few smalls who swing and miss on the on-ramp will reach out and inquire in time.
A quick search turns up no prime wins on CIO-SP3 SB or any prime Federal health-related contract awards for NES, but Industry Veteran and the NES Division Manager for Federal Health IT, Monty Nanton, will find himself in a different situation with CSRA as this group continues to be one of the more formidable competitors across the broad Federal Health market.
