G2X TAKE: Reaching the halfway mark for this ten year $20B GWAC, NITAAC has updated their website to reflect a required re-certification, with many current contract holders no longer qualifying as a SB on this IDIQ contract.
All CIO-SP3 SB primes are understood to have been recently asked to re-certify their small business size status. As a result, the checkbox for “other than Small Businesses” on the NITAAC contract vehicle page has jumped to 38 firms, trimming the list of current CIO-SP3 SB primes who will qualify as a small business down to 56. These firms are not expected to be asked to re-certify again, so they should maintain this status for the remaining 5 years of the contract. Check out the list here
Have a relationship with an existing SB prime? If they no longer qualify as a SB on this vehicle, they will be precluded from bidding on tasks marked as SB set-aside.
With the CIO-SP3 SB On-Ramp acquisition effort running into some unexpected delays, the remaining small business pool will enjoy a much less crowded competitive field until the outstanding issues can be resolved.
